Kimberley Walsh and Alfie Boe – the Girls Aloud singer and the classical tenor have been chosen to sing the official British Team Olympic Anthem.

The song they are to record is a cover of Queen’s One Vision, which was originally released as a single by the group in November 1985 when Kimberley would have been 4-years old.

Kimberley and Alfie will premiere their version of the song at the Team GB launch party at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday 11 May. The event will be attended by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and a number of famous British Olympians and the evening is to be called Our Greatest Team Rises.

30-year old Kimberley is currently playing the part of Princess Fiona in the stage version of Shrek and is clearly thrilled to have been chosen to be asked to sing the official British Olympic anthem. She said of the honour: “It feels like a real honour to be representing Great Britain with this song and to be part of the whole Olympics madness. It’s really special. Bring on the gold medals!”

Unlike other members of the group Kimberley has not been very involved with music since Girls Aloud have been on a break with just the one solo venture “Like U Like” which got to Number 8 in the UK singles chart last year.

Alfie Boe is also delighted to have been chosen for the song. ”It’s a huge honour to sing One Vision for Team GB with Kimberley,” said Boe, who was critically acclaimed for his performance in the 25th anniversary concerts of Les Miserables.

“Being a massive Queen fan, I was very excited about recording the track, I hope everyone likes it.”

Adam Yauch – the Beastie Boys singer and rapper has died of cancer at the age of 47.

The singer had battled salivary gland cancer since 2009 and his death bought many tributes from both those inside the music industry and also some unexpected people outside including the religious leader the Dalai Lama. Yauch converted to Tibetan Buddhism in 1994 after being born into a Jewish/Catholic family.

Coldplay dedicated a performance of “Fight For Your Right” to him at last night’s concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Chris Martin said:  ”We’re sending all our love to the Beastie Boys.”

The Beastie Boys made a statement on their website saying: ”It is with great sadness that we confirm that musician, rapper, activist and director Adam “MCA” Yauch, founding member of Beastie Boys and also of the Milarepa Foundation that produced the Tibetan Freedom Concert benefits, and film production and distribution company Oscilloscope Laboratories, passed away in his native New York City this morning after a near-three-year battle with cancer. He was 47 years old.”

It was the New Yorker Yauch who created the Beastie Boys with fellow band member Mike D who was a friend of his at high school. The band had a big fanbase and went on to sell over 40m albums.

As well as his musical career Yauch also worked as a filmmaker and he then worked under the pseudonym of Nathanial Hornblower. He directed several of the Beastie Boys’ videos including Ch-Check It Out, and so Whatcha Want.

Yauch married his wife Dechen Wangdu in a traditional Tibetan ceremony in 1998 and both she and the couple’s 14-year old daughter Tenzin Losel Yauch.

Pudsey – the little dog has triumphed by winning the Britain’s Got Talent final tonight.

17-year old Ashleigh Butler and her 6-year old pet dog Pudsey beat the pre-final favourites 17-year old Jonathan Antoine and 16-year old Charlotte Jaconelli in tonight’s final.

It is the first time a dog act has won the Britain’s Got Talent show and will no doubt please Simon Cowell who is on record as saying he has been looking all of his life for a top-notch dog act. Well tonight he got his wish as Pudsey and Ashleigh attracted more votes than anyone else in a top-class final.

The show has got better as the series has gone on in contrast to earlier series when the best episodes were those with the car-crash acts. It has taken a few weeks but Britain;s Got Talent is now back to consistent ratings victories over BBC’s The Voice.

Britain’s Got Talent has had several acts this series that could have taken victory including the 3rd placed act Welsh schoolboy choir Only Boys Allowed and Irish singer-songwriter Ryan O’Shaughnessy.

Simon Cowell is believed to want to sign Jonathan and Charlotte regardless of tonight’s result and from the reaction they have received they should be sure of a good future. Certainly finishing 2nd in a Britain;s Got Talent final is no bad thing as Susan Boyle can attest to as she has gone on to far more success than winning act Diversity managed.

As well as the opportunity to perform in front of the Queen at this year’s Royal Variety Performance Ashley and Pudsey also share prize money of half a million pounds. That is quite a lot of doggy chews whichever way you look at it. Apparently Pudsey’s favourite snack is a ham sandwich and it seems that Ashleigh has had to bribe him with quite a few to learn tonight’s new routine.

Girls Aloud  - it seems as though the girls will be singing this year’s Children In Need single.

The band have not released a record since their 2008 album Out Of Control bit Nadine Coyle has already spoken about their plans to release some new material and also tour again some time in 2013.

All of the girls have kept themselves busy since their last release together but there has always been a strong desire from their fans for the group to perform together again.

They do have some prior experience of working on Children In Need as they released a cover of The Pretender’s track I’ll Stand By You as the charity’s official single back in 2004.

A source was quoted as saying: “The plan is to release it in November. It is looking like it will be an original song. Bosses think it will be the perfect comeback hit as well as helping a good cause.”

It is thought that the reunion has been delayed by Nadine who now lives permanently in the US, so any comments she makes about a new Girls Aloud tour or new single are probably more valued than those from other members of the group. The group have not performed together since July 2009 when Nadine, Cheryl, Nicola, Kimberly and Sarah went their own ways to pursue their own individual projects.

Kimberley Walsh for Strictly? – it looks like the Girls Aloud singer will be part of the line-up for the next series of the BBC’s celebrity dance competition.

As well as the 30-year old singer, who is currently playing Princess Fiona in the West End musical Shrek, Kimberley is likely to be joined by Olympic cycling hero Victoria Pendleton, Texan supermodel Jerry Hall, Westlife singer Nicky Byrne, former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan, Eastender’s Sid Owen, Fern Britton and Sian Williams.

Of Kimberley’s link to the show, a source from Strictly told the Daily Mirror: ”When we heard she was interested we were thrilled.

“Now everyone’s dying to see her moves. She’s a great name to have got.”

Girls Aloud are getting a lot of media attention at the moment as they are strongly tipped to get together for a special concert to mark their 10th anniversary.

The BBC have been said to be very keen to have a strong Olympic link with the contestants in the next series and other names tipped to appear include Olympic swimming star Rebecca Adlington and the man viewed by many as our top Olympian of all-time, Sir Steve Redgrave. Also mentioned as a possible contestant is Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle.

Much less likely to join the Strictly team is Prince Harry, who judge Craig Revel Horwood says would make a great addition to the show. Speaking to the Daily Telegraph Craig said: ”I would love to see him on Strictly.“

“Maybe, if it were a charity event, we might be able to convince him. He gives it large and he’s just amazing.”

Prince Harry is reported to have just been dumped by his girlfriend Cressida Bonas after she was said to be very embarrassed by his nude antics in Las Vegas.

The new series of Strictly Come Dancing is set to start next month so there is not long to wait to find out the full line-up for this year’s series.

Strictly Come Dancing Pairings Revealed – the opening show of this year’s Strictly revealed the full pairings of celebrities and dance professionals as well as new judge Darcey Bussell.

There are some obvious candidates for the final stages already with Kimberley Walsh being paired with Pasha Kovalev and Denise Van Outen with James Jordan. The other most likely top pairings are the 2 Olympians, Victoria Pendleton with Brendan Cole and Louis Smith with Flavia Cacace.

The two outside bets for success appear to be Tracy Beaker actress Dani Harmer who is paired with tango specialist Vincent Simone and our pick from the older selection of contestants is Fern Britton who seemed so delighted to be paired with previous competition winner Artem Chigvintsev that we are sure she will be putting in plenty of hours practice without complaint.

As well as a whole new crop of celebrities and a new judge there is also a new professional dancer this year in the shape of Karen Hauer who is paired with Westlife’s Nicky Byrne. 30-year old Karen originally comes from Venezuela and is the World Mambo Champion. She recently starred in the Broadway hit Burn The Floor and has previously worked on dance routines with Jennifer Lopez.

Kimberley Walsh Pleased With Her New Body – Strictly star and Girls Aloud member Kimberley Walsh has been talking to Look magazine about her new Strictly body, Girls Aloud’s plans for the future and how her boyfriend feels about her performing on the show.

KImberley has impressed so far on Strictly with her routines with professional dance partner Pasha Kovalev. She says that although she doesn’t think she has lost any weight she can see that all the training has made some changes to her figure. She said: ”I can see my body changing, which I’m happy about. I can see it on my legs, I’m getting more shape in my things and my knees are a bit tighter.”

“I’ve spotted muscles in my stomach that I never knew I had. I’m making the most of this body because it might not last!”

Her great figure also seems to have caught the eye of fellow Strictly contestant gymnast Louis Smith who denied having a crush on Kimberley but did admit that he thought that she looked beautiful. The pair posed for a photo together when they both attended the Cosmopolitan Women of the Year Awards on Tuesday night, where Louis picked up the award for “Hottie of the Year.”

Talking about Girls Aloud’s recent announcement of a new tour and album Kimberley said: “I think we all know where we want to go and whether or not we go back to doing stuff on our own and then come back again.”

“We’re never going to split up. For us, it’s just deciding how we feel and going year by year.”

Kimberley is struggling to get herself ready for this Saturday where she and Pasha are hoping to perform a salsa. She has been having regular sessions with a physio after suffering pain in her knee. It is thought that she has iliotibial band syndrome,which is an injury common to runners, cyclists and weight-lifters. If she does make it to this week’s show she is likely to be wearing a compression bandage to help the injury.

Talking about how her boyfriend Justin Scott feels about her passionate dances with Pasha Kimberley said that despite reports to the contrary he has no problem with her appearances on the programme. She said that he is an easygoing, confident person and that is one of the reasons she loves him.

Strictly Come Dancing Semi-Final Week – we have reached Strictly’s semi-final stage this week with just 5 couples remaining.

As well as the pressure of getting ready for the semis all of the couples had the not very welcome experience of also having to prepare not just one dance but two for this Saturday’s show.

It is known as being the hardest stage of the contest as in previous years it is the part of the contest when most couples are really suffering from training fatigue and also seem to have picked up a few injuries and even more bruises.

After last week’s ‘perfect 40′ score the pressure was really on Kimberley and Pasha to produce another special performance and there was additional pressure on KImberley as some of her Girls Aloud pals were in the audience for tonight’s live show.

They started off with a great American Smooth as their first dance and dancing to Peggy Lee’s ‘Fever’ they almost managed another full house getting two 10′s and two 9′s for a total of 38 points from the judges. Some great comments from the judges with Bruno comparing Kimberley to 50′s film star Rita Hayworth and Len saying that she looked like Jessica Rabbit.

However this is just the start from Kimberley and Pasha who later pulled off a brilliant Charleston to the tune of ‘Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines’. Their routine was full of style and innovation and even had a triple cartwheel move from the two of them. The judges, and the audience, were impressed by all this and the pair managed another full house score of 40 points from the judges. Looks like Kimberley and Pasha are peaking at just the right time in this competition.

One of the other highlights of the evening was Danni and Vincent’s Argentine Tango which they danced to the classic Argentine Tango tune of Libertango by Astor Piazzolla. There was a lot of pressure on them in the lead up to this performance as Vincent Simone is known as the king of the Argentine Tango.

They certainly seemed to respond well to all the pressure as they produced their best dance yet and Danni was rewarded by her first 10′s from the judges. They managed a standing ovation from the studio audience and a total score of 38 points from the judges. Dan said to Danni that she stole his heart with her performance and Bruno told her she had become a ‘lady of the night’.

At the other end of the scoring scale tonight were Lisa and Robin who finished below Louis and Flavia. The Strictly message boards were full of quite irritated people after tonight’s show who could not believe that Lisa and Robin managed to get the same score for their salsa as Louis and Flavia got for their jive. The general view was that Lisa’s enthusiasm was not sufficient to make up for her lack of dance technique. Louis however seems to be criticised more harshly for the lack of a smile or emotion in his performance despite being a more accurate, and obviously more athletic, dancer.

It looks very much like Lisa will find herself in tomorrow’s Strictly dance-off but exactly whether it is Louis or Denise who she meets there is subject to a little more debate. Whoever we see in Sunday’s dance-off you can be sure that they will give it everything they have to try to gain a place in next week’s Strictly Come Dancing final.

Don’t forget that the final is very different to the other weeks as not only do the couples get to perform a special show dance but the judges make comments but do not have any say in the final result. It is the public vote that decides on the Strictly 2012 winner.

As it is nearly Christmas we thought it would be a good excuse to show Ola Jordan modelling her special Xmas lingerie for Boux Avenue. Well a girl has to earn a living when she leaves Strictly so early in the competition!

Kimberley Walsh Has Massive Career Boost After Strictly Experience – after finishing as runner-up to Louis Smith in last weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing Final it seems that Kimberley Walsh has received loads of tempting new job offers.

The Girls Aloud singer was not one of the best-known members of the group before her time on Strictly but she has definitely boosted her public profile during her time on the show.

The public have been charmed by her genuine and caring personality and also been impressed by her stunning figure, which has been further improved whilst she has been on the show.

Marie Claire and a number of other publications have been talking about the Strictly experience being worth at least £1m to KImberley over the next 12 months.

One direction that Kimberley might follow is a return to the West End. She previously played the role of Princess Fiona in the musical version of Shrek, following on from Amanda Holden when she became pregnant. She has said that her time on Strictly has taught her many new things about performing and unleashed a new passion in her.

Who would have thought 12 months ago that there would have been so many more articles being written about Kimberley this Christmas than her higher-profile bandmate Cheryl Cole.

Her looks have also apparently brought in offers from cosmetics firms keen to have her endorse their product ranges as well as offers of fitness dvds to show how to get the “KImberley Walsh body”.

On top of all the beauty and fitness offers there is also talk of her helping to host a tv show. This follows on from the news that she has signed a solo record deal with Decca. She is set to release a solo single “One Day I’ll Fly Away’ next February with an album, Centre Stage, to follow shortly after.

Kimberley Walsh Flashes Boobs and Knickers At GAY – the Girls Aloud, solo singer and former Strictly Come Dancing finalist seems to have really come out of her shell in the last few weeks if her performance at top London club GAY is anything to go by.

Kimberley was at the club to promote her new solo album Centre Stage which is released tomorrow (04 February).

The 31-year old sang 5 songs from the album which all went down well but it was her very daring outfit that everyone was talking about afterwards. Kimberley wore a slash-fronted red dress with no bra and a slit that went so far up the front that it stopped just short of her belly button, giving everyone a good look at her black knickers.

She is obviously feeling extremely confident about her body at the moment as the dress was not forgiving in any way shape or form and it was clear to all at the club that Kimberley is in incredible shape.

There to support her friend and bandmate was Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts who tweeted afterwards ’My amazing friend blew G.A.Y away @KimberleyJWalsh !!!!’

Kimberley Walsh Shows ‘Nipples’ In Wardrobe Malfunction – this time we can honestly say it really was a wardrobe malfunction.

At last night’s Girls Aloud concert at London’s O2 Kimberley looked as if she was feeling the cold as her white cutaway playsuit made it look as if her nipples were on show. At least one of the UK’s dailies was fooled by the  sexy singer’s look although the majority of the media did spot that it was actually a poorly designed outfit that was to blame.

Kimberley’s white playsuit had darts in the material that gave the impression that Kimberley was very pleased to be on stage. We are guessing that somebody will be checking the girls outfits a little more carefully before they go on stage in future.

Anyone with even a passing knowledge of the sexy singer and Strictly dancer would not be fooled for long when they looked more closely at exactly where her ‘nipples’ were showing on the stage outfit. As you can see from our earlier post in February when Kimberley flashed plenty of her body at a top London nightclub, her actual nipples would be much higher up than appeared yesterday.

Certainly it was not just some of the media who were fooled as at least one audience member took to Twitter to  announce that they were “mesmerised” by Kimberley’s nipples.

Kimberley’s outfit aside there were plenty of costume changes for the audience to enjoy at last night’s show. The outfits included a silver corset with tassles, a revealing little tutu, an outfit featuring large feathers and for the final number a figure-hugging full length red evening dress.

The girls are at the O2 tonight and for 2 more concerts until they move on to various venues around the UK with their Ten – The Hits Tour 2013.

One thing that was definitely on show during the concert last night was Cheryl Cole’s large new back tattoo. Cheryl has spoken about how the new rose tattoo took over 15 hours to be done. She had suggested to the rest of the Girls Aloud members that they might like to all get a tattoo done to celebrate their new tour but Nicola Roberts for one was not keen as she said that her skin is too pale for a tattoo.

The large red rose tattoo took longer than normal as the tattoo artist had to cover up an earlier butterfly tattoo that Cheryl had on her lower back. Opinion on Cheryl’s tattoos is very divided with some thinking they made her look hot and others calling the new tattoo a ‘tramp stamp.’

Someone else who is really enjoying the Girls Aloud tour is former X Factor contestant Amelia Lily. She is now sporting a new pink hair style and fitting in with one of the Girls Aloud outfits she wore a feathered corset on stage.

The Girls Aloud Ten – The Hits Tour moves on to the Manchester Arena this Tuesday for three nights and the tour ends on 20 March at the Liverpool Echo Arena.

Celebrity Fashions on the Red Carpet at Pride of Britain Awards – tonight saw the annual Pride of Britain Awards, held this year at London’s Grosvenor House.

The awards, which are sponsored by the Daily Mirror and ITV1, are to highlight some of Britain’s unsung heroes, ordinary people who have done extraordinary things. This year the awards were hosted by Carol Vorderman from ITV’s Loose Women.

The very curvy Miss Vorderman has been a regular at the Pride of Britain awards and this year she channeled a Hollywood glamour look as she wore a long gold evening gown by designer Caroline Castigliano.

There are many categories of award presented including Young Fundraiser of the Year, Outstanding Bravery, Local Hero and Teacher of the Year. As an example of some of the amazing stories to be heard tonight the 10-year old winner of the Young Fundraiser award raised an incredible £130k to provide food for children in Malawi from her school meal review blog.

The young Scottish schoolgirl got a huge amount of hits on her blog NeverSeconds after the local council banned the blog fearing negative publicity. This backfired spectacularly on the council after the story was picked up by national newspapers, online news sites and national tv and radio and they later reversed their ban on the school lunch review blog.

Unlike the badly informed Scottish council there were plenty of people at tonight’s awards who understand the importance of good publicity and they made sure they were well turned out for maximum media exposure.

The Apprentice star Luisa Zissman showed plenty of cleavage to the camera as she revealed the results of her recent impressive weight loss in a figure-hugging black lace dress.

Other stars on the red carpet tonight included singer Pixie Lott, who wore a fairy style dress with a see-through netting section over her legs.

Thee were plenty of tv presenters at tonight’s awards including most of ITV’s Loose Women, Kate Garraway, Ruth Langsford and Lorraine Kelly as well as Strictly’s Tess Daly.

Most people’s fashion hit of the evening was the X Factor judge and singer Nicole Scherzinger who looked stunning in a long strapless evening gown that showed off her enviable figure.

Curvy Kimberley Walsh Shows Off Her New Fashion Collection – the 32-year old Girls Aloud singer and former Strictly star used her own hot body to show off her new collection of clothing for curvier women.

Showing she has still kept in shape after her Strictly experience last year Kimberley released a set of photos that showed several outfits from her new collection for Very.co.uk.

Kimberley is following in the footsteps of another famously curvy woman, presenter Holly Willoughby, who has also had her own collections for Very.

There is talk already that the photos may herald a new career for Kimberley as a fashion model as if being a singer dancer, movie actress and star of the West End was not enough to be going on with.

The new range of clothing is aimed at those who are looking to pay high street prices rather than those shopping for designer clothing and prices for items from the collection range from £29 to £79. There is also a wide range of sizes available covering UK dress sizes from an 8 up to a 20.

Kimberley is clearly pleased with her new clothing collection saying ’It has been so much fun selecting my favourite pieces for the edit.I wanted to choose glamorous and easy-to-wear pieces and include something for everyone and I think I’ve achieved that.’

Although we can’t guarantee that anyone will look quite as hot as Kimberley does modelling her new clothing we are sure that there will be plenty of people buying a new outfit for their work or family Christmas meal out from this new online collection.
